What is club sandwich

Club sandwich also known as clubhouse sandwich is a dish of American origin, is basically a sandwich of bread(toasted) slice, cooked poultry or fried bacon, Lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise.
It was invented in 1894 at an exclusive gambling house in Saratoga springs, New York.

In club sandwich three toasted bread slices are used to make it. The extra slice work as a binder. It also helps to keep them fresh and slow down sogging of outer  bread slice.
It is called  club sandwich as it was invented in a clubhouse in New York. The "club" in club sandwich isn't an acronym for chicken lettuce under bacon or anything else.

  1. First if you have boneless chicken preferably chicken breast then boiled it . For a better taste roast it applying some salt, pepper and oil.

using roasted chicken in this recipe. You can go with boiled chicken as well.
2. Toast the bread in both side using a bread toaster or over a pan till it get brown in both side. Keep the bread aside

3. Make a fried Egg and applying salt and pepper in the fried egg.

4. Slice the tomato in thin sliced around 4 to 5 slices.
5. Shredded the chicken piece in a bowl and mix with one teaspoon of mayonnaise.

6. Take the bread slices and apply mayonnaise in one side of each bread.

7. Take one slice of bread and arrange Lettuce over it.

9. Now pinch some salt over the tomato slice and arrange the Mayo mix chicken mixture over the tomato slice.
10. Place second bread over the chicken mixture and spread some mayonnaise over the bread.

11. Place the fried egg over the second bread slice.
12.Top the fried egg with the third slice of bread and pressed tightly to hold all the ingredients to set .

13. Now cut the sandwich using a sharp knife from all four sides. Then cut it into triangle shaped  into four parts

A classic triple-decker sandwich with roasted chicken, fried egg, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 3 slices of bread (white or brown)
  • 1 chicken breast (roasted or boiled)
  • 1 fresh Tomato, sliced
  • 2 Eggs
  • Lettuce leaves as required
  • 2-3 teaspoons mayonnaise
  • Salt as required
  • Small pinch of black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Roast the chicken breast with salt, olive oil, and black pepper powder. Once cooked, shred the chicken and mix it with one teaspoon of mayonnaise.
  2. Toast the bread slices in a bread toaster or on a pan until golden brown.
  3. Fry the eggs in a pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper powder.
  4. Slice the tomato into thin round slices (around 4-5 slices).
  5. Assemble the sandwich: Apply mayonnaise on one side of a bread slice. Arrange lettuce leaves and tomato slices on top. Sprinkle a pinch of salt.
  6. Place the shredded mayo-chicken mixture over the tomatoes. Cover with the second slice of bread (mayo side down).
  7. Apply mayonnaise on the top of the second bread slice and place the fried egg over it.
  8. Close with the third bread slice and press slightly to set the ingredients.
  9. Cut off the crusts (sides) if desired, then cut diagonally into triangles. Serve immediately with fries.
